Thriving in community

Our Mission

Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection promotes health, builds community and creates opportunity for people affected by spinal cord injury. Our goal is to ensure everyone who sustains a spinal cord injury has the care and community they need to thrive.

Connection

Our work spans the full spectrum of life after a spinal cord injury, from supporting newly injured people in the hospital, collaborating with health providers and social service providers to ensure coordination of care and a seamless discharge plan, to building a thriving and supportive community of individuals with spinal cord injuries.

Equity

Our team and our work are committed to creating attitudinal and systemic changes that remove ableism, racism, and other forms of oppression against the disability community, including those who live at the intersection of multiple marginalizing identities with disability.

Stories of how we thrive

Whether it’s through our adaptive camping program, wheelchair maintenance workshop, or a meet-up, a “frequent dose of community” will make the transition after a spinal cord injury easier.

Become a monthly donor!

Our community health workers have identified significant needs in the spinal cord injury community that are not being met through traditional support avenues like government programs and health insurance. Items needed for success in daily life like ramps, shower chairs, mobility aids, and more are not covered by traditional programs.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor! As little as $5/month can help address the unmet needs of individuals with spinal cord injuries.
